The Asia-Pacific Federation of Press Clubs is shocked and outraged by the barbaric murder of American journalist James Foley at the hands of the group calling themselves Islamic State in Iraq & Syria (IS).
We express our deepest sympathy to the Foley family and call on governments everywhere to take all action possible to enable journalists to carry out their vital duties.
Without their work, the fabric of all societies would be damaged.
Steven Sotloff and other journalists that are held captive in Syria and Iraq should be released immediately.
